The Victoria Annex is JOOTRH's dedicated satellite hospital located in the Milimani area of Kisumu City, near Jamhuri Park. Re-opened in May 2025 and significantly expanded in October 2025, the facility is transforming into a fully-fledged satellite hospital offering advanced surgical, diagnostic and blood treatment services for patients across Western Kenya.
The Annex serves as the region's Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Management Centre — a dedicated facility equipped for comprehensive care, research, surgeries and bone marrow transplant planning. It provides specialised care in sickle cell disease, haematology and related surgical interventions, with advanced treatments such as automated red blood cell exchange.
Its well-equipped pharmacy, laboratory and triage section ensure surgical and haematological patients receive comprehensive care without delays, and the facility accepts multiple payment options including cash and the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
